ReRoute Program

ReRoute’s mission is to help our Latinx youth who are between the ages of 11-17 and who are starting to show academic and behavioral issues. We help them navigate through their challenges. Some examples are:

ACADEMIC:

  • Underachievement
  • Failing grades
  • Missing Assignments
  • Attendance
  • Suspension or expelled

BEHAVIOUR:

  • Signs of gang affiliation
  • Alcohol/drug use
  • Behavioral problems
  • Criminal justice involvement
  • Family Conflict
  • Lack of Personal/Social

How Reroute Works:

  • We enroll up to 20 youth into each cohort group
  • Cohorts last six months
  • In those six months, case management is offered to each youth and their family
  • Cohort activities include in-person group lessons on Saturdays from 12-2pm.
  • ReRoute staff advocate for youth at their schools to improve grades and attendance.

ReRoute provides leadership opportunities for youth who graduate from Re-route. They may become mentors to youth who will be enrolled in the next cohort. Stipend will be provided to youth leaders.
